Alejandro is an imaginative artist based in Chicago. He focuses on creating immersive spaces centered around wellness, community, and movement towards a desired future. He is currently doing so through:

Co-learning & absurd spaces. He has designed spaces such as the pseudo-holiday called Fossil Fuel Independence Day— a holiday founded in the future celebrating the day we divested from fossil fuels and achieved holistic change in society. Other spaces include: mixed-media book clubs, a music school, a weekly “University day” where individuals co-teach things they’ve been learning, such as blockchain development, The Power of the Nose, embodied movement healing and more.

Music. As a member of Family Junket, Alejandro creates expressive music alongside 7 other musicians. In addition, we create celebratory events called “Junkets.” For these Junkets, we openly invite our communities to learn music and jam, participate in fashion shows or guided healing activities, eat food, meaningfully connect and have fun.

Chicago Adventure Therapy. He is a volunteer facilitator at a therapy organization that focuses on adventure therapy. Here he facilitates spaces for individuals involved in gang violence to connect with nature and outdoor sports while talking about their experiences and journey to peace.

Alejandro was raised by loving first generation parents. He obtained a degree in Physics from Carleton College. He thinks a lot about the relationship between imagination, holistic wellness and community. He was raised in and continues to belong to the places known as Brooklyn NY, the Caribbean, Long Island, Connecticut, Minnesota, and now Chicago.
